Timo Kaikkonen

I am a wilderness and nature guide Timo Kaikkonen. Originally I have been studied to be a carpenter, but the Finnish Defense Forces served as my employer for 32 years.

In addition to camping, my hobbies include skiing, orienteering and biathlon. Hunting, fishing and picking wild berries and mushrooms are also a natural part of my life in Hossa. I have inherited handcrafting skills from my family, so I have built or renovated the cottages and made some utensils by myself.
 

At the time of the establishment of Hossa National Park, I had the idea to join the development of the area. I renovated and expanded the old cottages I owned and studied to be a wilderness and nature guide. I have also supplemented my skills with the qualifications of a canoeing instructor and a rental boat driver.
